RE-IMAGINING THE ANTHROPOSOPHICAL SOCIETY

What kind of a Society is called for now?

Having passed the significant milestones of the 100 year anniversaries, we can ask: As individuals and members of the Society, what does living with the ideals of anthroposophy ask from us today in meeting the challenges of our times and being of service to the world? How do we respond to the call of Michael to creativity, moral imagination and initiative taking? How can we approach younger generations with anthroposophical ideas that they are able to embrace, in a language that is more fitting for them? And are we open to collaborate with other individuals and groups who see themselves as fighting the same battle against the dehumanising forces running rampant today? Do we welcome or resist change? These questions call for self-reflection in us all and a willingness to face them in mutually supportive ways. In recognising and respecting our differences, we can build bridges that can lead anthroposophy into the future together.

We have invited two keynote speakers, Johannes Kronenberg and Dr David Martin, whom some of you will remember from last year’s conference. They will explore all aspects of the theme and will be complemented by a range of engaging workshops and additional presentations. On each evening there will be an artistic offering – two of a dramatic kind and one musical (see programme). The musicians will help us to conclude our last evening with a festive ceilidh.

The conference will take place once more at Emerson College which, by the end of July, will be fully transformed. We thank Aonghus Gordon and all the Ruskin Mill staff at Emerson for hosting this event.

This conference has been created to be of interest and pertinent to all age groups.
